Summary: Developing a peroxidase-like activity modulator to accurately regulate peroxidase-like activity has always been a challenge. External stimulation can effectively modulate the metal-centered active sites, optimizing the chemical reaction path and changing the peroxidase-like activity. By inducing electron transfer between silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) and mercury(II) in a weak acidic environment, the formation of Hg(I) was observed to significantly enhance the peroxidase-like activity. A visual colorimetric sensor for Hg2+ detection was successfully constructed with a reliable detection limit of 19.7 nM, showing potential advantages in environmental applications.

Synthesis and characterization of 4-Halobenzylidene malanonitriles for optical detection of Nickel (II) ions in aqueous solution
