Four-Component Relativistic Calculations of NMR Shielding Constants of the Transition Metal Complexes-Part 3: Fe, Co, Ni, Pd, and Pt Glycinates

Dmitry O. O. Samultsev et al.

Summary: The relativistic effects on the shielding constants of various nuclei and their importance in theoretical calculations of chelate complexes were studied. The accuracy factors affecting the calculation of chemical shifts were analyzed. It was found that relativistic effects have a significant impact on the results.

Four-component relativistic calculations of NMR shielding constants of the transition metal complexes. Part 1: Pentaammines of cobalt, rhodium, and iridium

Dmitry O. Samultsev et al.

Summary: The shielding constants of H-1, N-15, Co-59, Rh-103, and Ir-193 in pentaammineaquacomplexes of cobalt(III), rhodium(III), and iridium(III) were calculated using density functional theory (DFT), with noticeable relativistic corrections observed for nitrogen shielding constants. Relativistic corrections to the NMR shielding constants were found to have minimal impact on protons, small impact on cobalt and rhodium, and a significant impact on iridium, with corrections up to 70%.

Computational Prediction of Tc-99 NMR Chemical Shifts in Technetium Complexes with Radiopharmaceutical Applications

Tais F. C. B. de Andrade et al.

Summary: The Tc-99m nucleus is widely used in imaging diagnosis. This study proposes three computational protocols for predicting Tc-99 NMR chemical shifts and evaluates the effect of explicit solvent on the prediction. The results show that solvent effects play a key role in predicting Tc-99 NMR.

Four-Component Relativistic Calculations of NMR Shielding Constants of the Transition Metal Complexes-Part 2: Nitrogen-Coordinated Complexes of Cobalt

Dmitry O. Samultsev et al.

Summary: Both four-component relativistic and nonrelativistic computations within the GIAO-DFT(PBE0) formalism have been carried out for N-15 and Co-59 NMR shielding constants and chemical shifts of a number of the nitrogen-coordinated complexes of cobalt. The study found that the relativistic and solvent effects on the chemical shifts of nitrogen-coordinated cobalt complexes are significant.

Predicting the structure and NMR coupling constant 1J(129Xe-19F) of XeF6 using quantum mechanics methods

Diego F. S. Paschoal et al.

Summary: Different quantum mechanics methods were used to study the conformational equilibrium of XeF6, revealing the stability of the C-3v conformer only with specific functionals. The BMK, BHandHLYP, and LC-omega PBE functionals show excellent agreement with experiments and high-level calculations for the XeF6 molecule.
