The influence of CO2 and CH4 mixture on water wettability in organic rich shale nanopore Wei

Wei Yong et al.

Summary: This study utilized Molecular Dynamics simulations to investigate the wetting behavior of water in organic-rich shale nanopores under the influence of CH4/CO2 mixtures. The results showed that the contact angle of water droplets on graphite substrate is significantly affected by the pressures of CH4 and CO2, with CO2 exhibiting stronger interaction with organic-rich surfaces compared to methane. This leads to an approximately linear increase of the contact angle with the CO2 mole fraction in CH4/CO2 mixtures.
