Synthesis of CdS QDs/BaSnO3 nanocomposites via electrostatic self-assembly for visible light photocatalytic deep oxidation of NO

Summary: In this study, a BaSnO3 sample loaded with CdS quantum dots (CdS QDs/BaSnO3) was prepared using an electrostatic self-assembly method. The resulting CdS QDs/BaSnO3 nanocomposites exhibited efficient visible light utilization and photocatalytic NO oxidation activity. The introduction of CdS QDs significantly improved the absorption range and separation efficiency of photogenerated electron-hole pairs, while also providing new active sites for NO adsorption and activation. Additionally, the generation of .O2- induced by CdS QDs promoted the deep oxidation of NO. This study presents a facile and effective synthesis method for enhancing the photocatalytic NO removal efficiency and reducing the concentration of NO2.

Halloysite nanotubes supported BiVO4/BaSnO3 p-n heterojunction photocatalysts for the enhanced degradation of methylene blue under visible light

Summary: A novel BiVO4/BaSnO3@HNTs composite was constructed using a facile precipitation method, and the photocatalytic performance was evaluated by the degradation efficiency of methylene blue (MB) dye. Results showed that the BiVO4/BaSnO3@HNTs photocatalyst exhibited significantly enhanced catalytic efficiency for MB degradation under visible light. The improved performance can be attributed to the rapid carrier separation induced by BiVO4/BaSnO3 p-n junctions and the large specific surface area and adsorption capacity provided by HNTs.

Promoted visible-light-driven H2 production over hydrothermally synthesized YVO4 nanorods coupled with Pt/AgInS2 nanospheres

Nanocrystalline Sb-doped-BaSnO3 perovskite electron transport layer for dye-sensitized solar cells

Summary: Undoped and Sb-doped BaSn(1-x)SbxO3 perovskite nanoparticles were synthesized using a peroxide-precipitate method and annealed at 900 degrees C. The nanoparticles exhibited a single-phase cubic structure, as confirmed by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. Sb-doping led to a reduction in reflectance intensity and optical bandgap. Dye-sensitized solar cells fabricated using the Sb-doped nanoparticles showed improved power conversion efficiency and short-circuit current density, consistent with electrochemical impedance data.

Enhanced visible-light-driven H2 evolution over sol-gel prepared Nd2O3 supported with PtO nanoparticles

Enhanced photocatalytic performance of NiS/ZnO nanocomposite for the remediation of PNP and RhB dye

Summary: A spherical ZnO nanoparticle was combined with a flower-like NiS nanoparticle using a simple hydrothermal method. The synthesized nanocomposites showed improved photocatalytic efficiency compared to pure ZnO and NiS nanoparticles, and were able to degrade up to 96% and 93% of PNP and RhB dyes, respectively, under UV-light illumination. The introduction of NiS to the nanocomposites led to the separation of useful e(-)/h(+) with strong redox potential, resulting in the observed improvement in photocatalytic performance.

Photocatalytic reduction and removal of mercury ions over mesoporous CuO/ZnO S-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst

Enhanced photocatalytic activities of NiS decorated reduced graphene oxide for hydrogen production and toxic dye degradation under visible light irradiation

Summary: Semiconductor nanoparticles have been extensively studied for a decade for photocatalytic hydrogen production and remediation of toxic pollutants due to their better activities at nano regime and quantum efficiency. The present study reports the synthesis of NiS nanoparticles decorated reduced-graphene oxide nanocomposite as an effective visible photo-catalyst for H2 production and toxic organic dye degradation. The nanocomposite shows good structural and optical properties, with high photocatalytic activities in dye degradation and hydrogen production.

Enhanced visible light response of heterostructured Cr2O3 incorporated two-dimensional mesoporous TiO2 framework for H2 evolution

Enhanced photocatalytic H2 production over g-C3N4/NiS hybrid photocatalyst

Summary: The g-C3N4/NiS photocatalyst was synthesized using a two-step procedure involving thermal condensation and solvothermal techniques, leading to the observation of two phases in the hybrid material obtained. UV spectroscopy analysis revealed a shift to lower energies in the adsorption region compared to bare g-C3N4, with corresponding band gap values of 2.74 and 2.3 eV. SEM analysis showed the typical g-C3N4 lamellar morphology with NiS clusters grown over it, while the yield of H-2 obtained in the water splitting reaction under UV irradiation was 30% higher than that obtained when pure g-C3N4 was used as the photocatalyst.

Enhanced photocatalytic activity of /Pt/PtOx photocatalyst: The role of Pt oxidation state
