3D mapping of phrenic nerve course for radiofrequency pulmonary vein isolation

Marius Bohnen et al.

Summary: This study characterized the intracardiac course of the phrenic nerve (PN) during radiofrequency pulmonary vein isolation (RF-PVI) and found that the PN is frequently in close proximity to the ablation trajectory. Routine phrenic nerve pacing should be considered during RF-PVI procedures.

Long-Term Follow-Up In Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation Patients With Documented Isolated Trigger

Zefferino Palama et al.

Summary: The study assessed the inducibility of supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) in patients referred for atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation and the effects of SVT ablation on AF recurrences. It found that 19% of patients had inducible SVT, and SVT ablation had a preventive effect on AF recurrences.

Comparison between superior vena cava ablation in addition to pulmonary vein isolation and standard pulmonary vein isolation in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation with the cryoballoon technique

Ingrid Overeinder et al.

Summary: The study retrospectively evaluated the clinical impact of SVC isolation in addition to ordinary PVI in patients with PAF. The results showed that the combination of SVC and PV isolation may improve freedom from ATs compared to PVI alone at 1-year follow-up.
