The diagnostic and prognostic value of near-normal perfusion or borderline ischemia on stress myocardial perfusion imaging

Kameel Kassab et al.

Summary: Near-normal MPI and borderline ischemia on SPECT-MPI provide no significant prognostic information in predicting hard cardiac events but are associated with higher rates of obstructive angiographic CAD and coronary revascularizations.

Prognostic value of structural and functional coronary microvascular dysfunction in patients with non-obstructive coronary artery disease; from the multicentre international ILIAS registry

Coen K. M. Boerhout et al.

Summary: The combined assessment of coronary flow reserve (CFR) and minimal microvascular resistance (MR) can identify two distinct subtypes of coronary microvascular dysfunction. In patients with angina and non-obstructive coronary arteries, abnormal CFR is associated with an increased risk of major adverse cardiac events (MACE) and target vessel failure (TVF) over a 5-year follow-up period. However, abnormal MR is not associated with adverse clinical events. There is no significant difference in the risk of MACE and TVF between the two subtypes of coronary microvascular dysfunction.

Prognostic value of myocardial perfusion imaging with D-SPECT camera in patients with ischemia and no obstructive coronary artery disease (INOCA)

Lu Liu et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the prognostic value of D-SPECT in patients with INOCA and obstructive CAD, finding that patients with abnormal D-SPECT MPI had higher MACE rates and poorer prognosis. INOCA patients with abnormal D-SPECT MPI had a prognosis similar to that of obstructive CAD patients.

Long-term prognostic value of computed tomography-based attenuation correction on thallium-201 myocardial perfusion imaging: A cohort study

Jei-Yie Huang et al.

Summary: The study investigated the prognostic value of CT-based AC thallium-201 MPI, finding that SSS and SRS had similar independent predictive values for predicting all-cause mortality and composite outcomes in both AC and NAC images. Subgroup analysis suggested that AC MPI may provide better risk stratification for obese patients.

Prognostic value of myocardial perfusion scintigraphy in asymptomatic patients with diabetes mellitus at high cardiovascular risk: 5-year follow-up of the prospective multicenter BARDOT trial

Federico Caobelli et al.

Summary: The study found that asymptomatic diabetic patients with abnormal myocardial perfusion scintigraphy (MPS) have a higher risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) over a 5-year follow-up period. MPS may have prognostic value for asymptomatic diabetic patients at high cardiovascular risk.

Summary: The study evaluated the prognostic value of coronary microvascular function in MINOCA patients by utilizing caIMR, and found a significant association between high caIMR and MACE rate, indicating caIMR as an independent predictor of MACE.
