Self-Powered Smart Touchpad using Novel Intrinsic Piezo-Tribo Hybrid Nanogenerator

Monunith Anithkumar et al.

Summary: Novel hybrid nanogenerators (HNG) with multifunctional materials are gaining immense interest due to their high electrical output and broad applications in the electronic industry. The intrinsic hybridization of single electrode triboelectric (SE-TE) and piezoelectric (PE) nanogenerators (NGs), known as double layered (DL)-HNG, can eliminate the real-time electrical grounding issues and produce high output. The DL-HNG, made of Cu2O-doped 0.3Ba(0.7)Ca(0.3)TiO(3)-0.7BaSn(0.12)Ti(0.88)O(3) nanoparticles (Cu2O-BCST NPs) and polydimethylsiloxane polymer, can be scaled up to work as a flexible self-powered trackpad or touch sensor.
