Impedance responses and size-dependent resonances in topolectrical circuits via the method of images

Haydar Sahin et al.

Summary: Resonances in electric circuits with capacitive and inductive components are analyzed in this study. The impedance characteristics of nontrivial topolectrical circuits such as Su-Schrieffer-Heeger circuits are explored, revealing size-dependent anomalous impedance resonances in finite LC circuits. The method of images is used to study how resonance modes in multidimensional circuit arrays can be modified by current reflection and interference. Analytic expressions for impedance across corner nodes in various lattice networks are derived, along with irregular dependencies of impedance resonance on lattice size and integral and dimensionally reduced expressions for impedance in higher dimensions.

Observation of cnoidal wave localization in nonlinear topolectric circuits

Hendrik Hohmann et al.

Summary: We observe a localized cnoidal (LCn) state in an electric circuit network, formed from the interplay of nonlinearity and topology inherent to a Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) chain of inductors. The LCn state is a distorted version of the topological SSH boundary state, showing a decrease in cnoidal eccentricity from edge to bulk in the nonlinear regime. Varicap diodes serve as voltage-dependent capacitors in the circuit, creating a nonlinear on-site potential which leads to the voltage response following the Korteweg-de Vries equation for sinusoidal voltage excitation near midgap frequency.

Evidencing non-Bloch dynamics in temporal topolectrical circuits

Maopeng Wu et al.

Summary: By using temporal topolectrical circuits as simulators, we demonstrate that the bulk states of an open system can be described by non-Bloch evolution and successfully confirm the existence of extended complex wave vectors. This work advances the investigation of dissipative topological modes and provides a versatile platform for exploring the unique evolution and topology for both closed and open systems.

Electrical circuit realization of topological switching for the non-Hermitian skin effect

Hanxu Zhang et al.

Summary: Non-Hermitian systems, which reveal physics beyond the Hermitian regime, have attracted great interest. The non-Hermitian skin effect, a remarkable physical phenomenon, has been theoretically proposed and recently demonstrated in electrical circuit networks, offering a potential avenue for controlling electrical signals in circuit networks. The ability to observe nonreciprocal transport of probability for electrical signals and the demonstrated robustness of the proposed topological switch in the presence of perturbations highlight the significance of this study, which could have applications in integrated circuit design.

Summary: This article reviews the application of one- and two-dimensional CGL models based on the complex Ginzburg-Landau equations in nonlinear transmission networks. These models generate a variety of analytical and numerical solutions for the propagation of solitons, kinks, and other wave modes. In addition, the article discusses bifurcations of traveling waves in 2D electrical networks, which are distinct from the CGL equations.

Observation of inverse Anderson transitions in Aharonov-Bohm topolectrical circuits

Haiteng Wang et al.

Summary: The inverse Anderson transition refers to the phenomenon where disorders destroy the phase coherence of localized modes in flat bands. In this study, the inverse Anderson transition was achieved using Aharonov-Bohm topolectrical circuits, which allowed the implementation of different types of disorders. The experimental observation of inverse Anderson transitions induced by antisymmetric-correlated disorders was clearly observed, along with the fulfillment of flat bands and associated spatial localizations in clean circuits or circuits with symmetric-correlated and uncorrelated disorders.

Scaling theory of the Kosterlitz-Thouless phase transition

Summary: In this study, a series of scaling theories for Kosterlitz-Thouless phase transitions are proposed and verified using a one-dimensional Bose-Hubbard model, improving upon commonly used scaling assumptions and presenting finite-size and finite-entanglement scaling forms. The results show that the rate exponent varies with the distance from the critical point and driving rate, consistent with experimental findings, and that the finite-size and finite-entanglement scaling can well describe the experimental results.
