Exploration of the association between the single-nucleotide polymorphism of co-stimulatory system and rheumatoid arthritis

Ding-Ping Chen et al.

Summary: This study investigated the association between RA and single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of co-stimulatory or co-inhibitory molecules. The results showed that there were 13 SNPs associated with RA, which may play an important role in immune regulation and require further research into the pathogenesis of RA.

SNPs in 3′UTR miRNA Target Sequences Associated with Individual Drug Susceptibility

Elena Rykova et al.

Summary: The binding of miRNAs with their target gene mRNA's 3'UTRs plays a significant role in gene expression control. SNPs in the miRNA recognition elements (MREs) of genes can disrupt the interaction between miRNAs and their target mRNAs, leading to dysregulated gene expression. Accumulated data suggest that these SNPs are associated with various human pathologies and drug resistance mechanisms. This review discusses the role of SNPs in 3'UTR MREs and explores gene-by-gene studies and genome-wide approaches for detecting MRE SNPs associated with individual drug response.

Investigation of the association between the genetic polymorphisms of the co-stimulatory system and systemic lupus erythematosus

Ding-Ping Chen et al.

Summary: This study investigated the correlation between SLE and the genetic polymorphisms of co-stimulatory/co-inhibitory molecules, and found nine SNPs associated with SLE. These SNPs play an important role in immune regulation and pathogenic mechanisms.

Polymorphisms and Circulating Plasma Protein Levels of Immune Checkpoints (CTLA-4 and PD-1) Are Associated With Posner-Schlossman Syndrome in Southern Chinese

Xiaosheng Huang et al.

Summary: This study found that genetic polymorphisms of CTLA-4 and PD-1 are associated with susceptibility to PSS in a southern Chinese population, and the circulating plasma levels of sCTLA-4 and sPD-1 were significantly higher in PSS patients.

PD-1 gene polymorphisms and thyroid expression of PD-1 ligands differ between Graves' and Hashimoto's diseases

Mayumi Kawabata et al.

Summary: The study investigated the association between PD1 gene polymorphisms, PD-1 expression, thyroid PD-1/PD-L1 expression and the pathogenesis of autoimmune thyroid disease (AITD). The findings showed differences in functional PD1 rs36084323 polymorphism and thyroid PD-1/PD-L1 expression between GD and HD. Additionally, PD1 polymorphisms and PD1(+) Treg cells were found to be related to the severity of HD.

Summary: Our study found a bidirectional causal effect between GD and RA in an Asian population. The presence of RA may increase the risk of GD by 39% and the existence of GD may increase the risk of RA by 30%. We have 100% power to detect the causal effect of RA on GD risk, and vice versa.
