Efficacy and Safety of Recombinant Human Prourokinase in Acute Ischemic Stroke: A Phase Ila Randomized Clinical Trial

Haiqing Song et al.

Summary: This study investigated the safety and preliminary efficacy of rhPro-UK in patients with acute ischemic stroke through a multicenter clinical trial. The results showed no significant differences in functional independence and early neurological improvement between the 35mg and 50mg rhPro-UK groups compared to the r-tPA group. There was also no significant difference in mortality and other serious adverse events among the three groups, although one patient in the 50mg rhPro-UK group experienced symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage.

Non-immunogenic recombinant staphylokinase versus alteplase for patients with acute ischaemic stroke 4.5 h after symptom onset in Russia (FRIDA): a randomised, open label, multicentre, parallel-group, non-inferiority trial

Summary: The study showed that non-immunogenic staphylokinase was non-inferior to alteplase in patients with acute ischemic stroke, with comparable overall and safety outcomes. Future research is needed to further evaluate the efficacy and safety of non-immunogenic staphylokinase in patients with acute ischemic stroke within and outside the 4.5-hour time window.
