Revealing Dynamic Effects of Mobile Ions in Halide Perovskite Solar Cells Using Time-Resolved Microspectroscopy

Weijian Chen et al.

Summary: This review discusses the mobile ion dynamics in halide perovskites investigated via luminescence spectroscopy combined with confocal microscopy, including mobile ion induced fluorescence quenching, phase segregation in mixed halide hybrid perovskite, and mobile ion accumulation at the interface in perovskite devices. Steady-state and time-resolved luminescence imaging techniques, combined with confocal microscopy, are unique tools for probing ionic dynamics in perovskites, providing invaluable insights on ionic dynamics in nanoscale resolution.

Simultaneous real-time spectroscopy using a broadband IR laser source

Yohan Yoon et al.

Summary: The study developed a simultaneous grating spectroscopy technique using a broadband IR laser source capable of real-time detection of moving targets. By optimizing the laser operating conditions based on a detailed understanding of the broadband source, the technique successfully discriminated the spectral features of samples, showing discrete peaks comparable to FTIR reference spectra.

Halide Segregation in Mixed-Halide Perovskites: Influence of A-Site Cations

Alexander J. Knight et al.

Summary: Mixed-halide perovskite films of MAPb(Br0.5I0.5)(3) and FA(0.83)Cs(0.17)Pb(Br0.4I0.6)(3) exhibit clear differences in compositional and optoelectronic changes associated with halide segregation. MAPb(Br0.5I0.5)(3) shows low-barrier ionic pathways that enhance stability against halide segregation, while FA(0.83)Cs(0.17)Pb(Br0.4I0.6)(3) lacks such pathways and undergoes considerable ionic rearrangement under prolonged illumination.

Defects in CsPbX3 Perovskite: From Understanding to Effective Manipulation for High-Performance Solar Cells

Jingru Zhang et al.

Summary: The rapid development of inorganic metal perovskite materials, such as CsPbX3, shows great potential for top-cells in tandem junctions due to their thermal stability and adjustable band gap. However, the efficiency of CsPbX3 perovskite solar cells still needs improvement due to defects. Research on defect passivation in CsPbX3 PSCs is summarized, including discussions on defect physics, tolerance, self-healing, and techniques for defect identification and manipulation for enhancing photoelectric properties.
