Simulation of combined convective-radiative heat transfer of hybrid nanofluid flow inside an open trapezoidal enclosure considering the magnetic force impacts

Meysam Atashafrooz et al.

Summary: In this research, the convective-radiative heat transfer for MHD hybrid nanofluid flow in an open trapezoidal enclosure is numerically simulated. The findings indicate that the highest total heat transfer rate on the enclosure bottom hot wall is obtained when there is no magnetic force, the radiative parameter is the largest, and the hybrid nanoparticles concentration is the highest.

An implicit robust numerical scheme with graded meshes for the modified Burgers model with nonlocal dynamic properties

Qingqing Tian et al.

Summary: In this paper, an implicit robust difference method is constructed to handle the modified Burgers model with nonlocal dynamic properties. The L1 formula on graded meshes is employed for the fractional derivative. The existence and uniqueness of numerical solutions are proved, and the unconditional stability is derived. A new discrete Gronwall inequality is introduced to improve the stability, and the optimal convergence order in the L-2 energy norm is also obtained. Numerical experiments demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed robust method on uniform and graded meshes.

A Predictor-Corrector Compact Difference Scheme for a Nonlinear Fractional Differential Equation

Xiaoxuan Jiang et al.

Summary: In this work, a predictor-corrector compact difference scheme is proposed to solve a nonlinear fractional differential equation. The MacCormack method is used to handle nonlinear terms, the Riemann-Liouville (R-L) fractional integral term is treated using the second-order convolution quadrature formula, and the Caputo derivative term is discretized using the L1 discrete formula. By calculating the first and second derivatives of the matrix under the compact difference, the precision of this scheme is improved. The existence and uniqueness are proven, and numerical experiments are presented.

Free convection nanofluid flow past a vertical isothermal cone surface in the presence of viscous dissipation and MHD with heat flux

E. Ragulkumar et al.

Summary: This study employs a numerical solution approach to examine the impacts of various nanofluid flows on an up straight cone with iso-thermal surface velocity and temperature. The experiment used different types of nanofluids and volume fractions to detect differences in heat transfer occurrence depending on temperature and velocity. Graphs have been used to show a parametric analysis for various flow field features.

The effects of MHD radiating and non-uniform heat source/sink with heating on the momentum and heat transfer of Eyring-Powell fluid over a stretching

Bharatkumar Manvi et al.

Summary: This study investigates the heat dissipation over a layered stretching sheet under the control of magneto-hydrodynamic mixed convective flow of Eyring-Powell fluid. The effects of heat emission and immersion are analyzed. The results show that increasing the thermal stratification parameter reduces fluid velocity and temperature, while the opposite is observed for the heat production variable.

Blow-up of error estimates in time-fractional initial-boundary value problems

Hu Chen et al.

Summary: Time-fractional initial-boundary value problems are studied, showing that the solution converges to the solution of the classical parabolic initial-boundary value problem as alpha approaches 1(-). Rigorous analyses of numerical methods for this problem typically have error bounds that blow up as alpha -> 1(-), but in some cases, these analyses can be modified to obtain robust error bounds.

Flow of Eyring-Powell liquid due to oscillatory stretchable curved sheet with modified Fourier and Fick's model

M. Imran et al.

Summary: This study investigates the mass and heat transport mechanism of Eyring-Powell liquid in the time-dependent magnetohydrodynamic flow across an oscillatory stretchable curved sheet using a modified version of Fourier and Fick's model known as the Cattaneo-Christov double diffusive theory. The obtained flow equations are transformed into nonlinear PDEs and solved using the homotopy analysis method. The results show that the amplitude of the pressure distribution increases for high values of the Eyring-Powell parameter.

Unsteady Mixed Bioconvection Flow of Eyring-Powell Nanofluid with Motile Gyrotactic Microorganisms Past Stretching Surface

A. Mahdy

Summary: The provided mathematical analysis aims to examine the behavior of gyrotactic microorganisms in special Eyring-Powell nanofluid loaded by nanoparticles and gyrotactic microorganisms, with the impact of Lorentz forces and zero nanoparticle flux condition at boundary. The study mutated the controlling highly nonlinear partial differential equations into ordinary differential equations and solved them computationally, presenting significant impacts of unsteady parameter on heat transfer and local density numbers. The comparison between Newtonian and non-Newtonian Powell-Eyring fluid on velocity and temperature distributions confirmed the methodology's highly satisfactory results under special conditions.
