The Quadratic Constitutive Model Based on Partial Derivative and Taylor Series of Ti6242s Alloy and Predictability Analysis

Jiansheng Zhang et al.

Summary: In order to address the insufficient predictability in classical models for the Ti6242s alloy, a new constitutive model based on partial derivatives from experimental data and the Taylor series was proposed. Hot compression experiments were conducted at different temperatures and strain rates, and the Arrhenius model and Hensel-Spittel model were constructed. Additionally, the partial derivatives of logarithmic stress with respect to temperature and logarithmic strain rate at various strain levels were analyzed. Two new constitutive models with first- and second-order approximations were proposed to achieve high precision.

Impact of travel speed on the microstructure and mechanical properties of adjustable-gap bobbin-tool friction stir welded Al-Mg joints

Dong Wu et al.

Summary: In this study, butt welds of 4mm thick 5A06 aluminum alloy plates were produced using adjustable-gap bobbin-tool friction stir travel at different speeds. The results showed that the hardness of the stir zone was higher than the base material and was minimally affected by travel speed, while the tensile strength of the joint decreased with increasing travel speed, reaching a maximum strength efficiency of 99%.

Hot deformation induced microstructural evolution in local-heterogeneous wire plus arc additive manufactured 2219 Al alloy

Yinghui Zhou et al.

Summary: This study investigated the hot deformation behavior and microstructural evolution of a wire + arc additive manufactured (WAAMed) 2219 Al alloy. The local-heterogeneous microstructure showed an alternated distribution of equiaxed and columnar grains, with 0' phase precipitating near grain boundaries. Analysis revealed a higher stress resistance during hot deformation compared to traditional 2219 Al alloys, with dynamic recrystallization impacting grain boundaries and hardness.
