Exclusive breastfeeding in African American women: A concept analysis

Oluwatumilara Aderibigbe et al.

Summary: This study aims to analyze the concept of exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) in African American women. The findings suggest that the EBF rate in the United States is low, especially among African American women. The low rates are attributed to bias, racism, and generational trauma. Therefore, clarifying the concept of EBF in relation to these factors is crucial for promoting EBF rates in this population.

Promoting the practice of exclusive breastfeeding: a philosophic scoping review

Tumilara Busayo Amoo et al.

Summary: This study found that theories and models are increasingly being used to promote exclusive breastfeeding. Integrating exclusive breastfeeding programs with theoretical frameworks is a step in the right direction as theories can help researchers and practitioners understand contextually relevant factors and processes for effective strategies. Future research should examine the effectiveness and impact of theory-informed exclusive breastfeeding programs to design cost-effective interventions.

Response rates of online surveys in published research: A meta-analysis

Meng-Jia Wu et al.

Summary: The study finds that the number of online surveys in published research has been steadily increasing over the years, with an average response rate of 44.1%. The results indicate that sending surveys to a clearly defined and refined population positively impacts the response rate. Additionally, using other types of surveys in conjunction with online surveys, pre-contacting potential participants, and using phone calls as reminders can also yield a higher response rate.

Rehan Ahmad Khan Sherwani et al.

Summary: The Kruskal-Wallis H test is a well-known nonparametric alternative in classical statistics for comparing equality of means, but is limited when dealing with interval-valued data. A modified version of the test has been proposed in this research to address indeterminacy data, showing more relevant and adequate results, particularly in situations involving uncertainty and imprecision.
