Z-scheme WOx/Cu-g-C3N4 heterojunction nanoarchitectonics with promoted charge separation and transfer towards efficient full solar- spectrum photocatalysis

Xiao Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the construction of Z-scheme heterojunctions using the concept of nanoarchitectonics to promote solar-assisted charge carrier separation in carbon-based materials. The heterostructure photocatalyst WOx/Cu-g-C3N4 was fabricated by immobilizing WOx on Cu-modified g-C3N4 nanosheets, resulting in enhanced photocatalytic performance due to improved charge transport. The optimized ratio of WOx to Cu-g-C3N4 exhibited high H2 evolution (4560 μmol/g·h) and CO reduction (5.89 μmol/g·h) rates.

Hydrogen production and mechanism from water splitting by metal-free organic polymers PVDF/PVDF-HFP under drive by vibrational energy

Limin Song et al.

Summary: The hydrogen producing performances of metal-free organic polymers PVDF and PVDF-HFP from water splitting were investigated. It was found that under ultrasonic vibration, the 200-min hydrogen yields of PVDF and PVDF-HFP reached 355.10 and 724.64 mu mol/g respectively. PVDF-HFP showed better piezoelectric catalytic performance due to its higher content of beta phase. Both PVDF and PVDF-HFP exhibited high hydrogen producing stability, making them highly potential in clean energy production and wastewater treatment.
