Summary: This study investigated the Li-ion transport properties of amorphous/crystalline mixtures of Li-La-Zr-Nb-O thick films prepared by the suspension plasma spray process. The films containing mostly amorphous Li-La-Zr-Nb-O exhibited significantly different properties compared to those containing mostly cubic Li garnet-type oxide, showing unique AC conductivity spectra behaviors not reported before. Sputter-Deposited Amorphous Li3PO4 Solid Electrolyte Films

Tsuyoshi Ohnishi et al.

Summary: This paper presents the thin-film synthesis of Li3PO4 solid electrolytes using RF magnetron sputtering. The deposition process results in a relatively high ionic conductivity. It is found that the crystallization of Li3PO4 hampers ionic conduction, and the addition of O-2 to the sputtering plasma suppresses crystallization. Another significant finding is that the deposition of Li3PO4 on a LiCoO2 film for a thin-film battery can cause damage to the LiCoO2 film, but this can be avoided by actively controlling the bias potential.
