The Role of Triazole and Glucose Moieties in Alkali Metal Cation Complexation by Lower-Rim Tertiary-Amide Calix[4]arene Derivatives

Summary: The study investigated the coordination reactions between alkali metal cations and two tertiary-amide lower-rim calix[4]arenes in different solvents. The role of triazole and glucose functionalities in the reactions was explored. The results showed that the sugar moieties did not affect the cation binding, and all reactions were enthalpically controlled.
