Summary: This article investigates the properties of bare Alq(3) thin films and hybrid sandwich (Alq(3)/In/Alq(3)) thin films with metal In incorporation. The optical analysis reveals strong absorption and transmittance in both systems. The optical transitions are direct allowed transitions. The incorporation of In induces a slight blue shift in the green emission. The fluorescence decay profiles indicate a longer decay time for the film with In incorporation compared to the bare film.

Investigation of structural, electrical and photoresponse properties of composite based Al/NiO:CdO/p-Si/Al photodiodes

Ezgi Gurgenc et al.

Summary: In this study, NiO:CdO composite thin films with different molar ratios were coated on p-Si to fabricate photodiodes, and their photoresponse and electrical behavior were investigated. All fabricated photodiodes exhibited rectifying properties, with photocurrent values increasing as light intensity increased, and the NiO photodiode showing the highest photosensitivity value. Photocapacitance and photoconductance values of the photodiodes were affected by light, and the interface states and NiO:CdO ratio influenced the photoresponse and electrical behavior. Al/NiO:CdO/p-Si/Al photodiodes have potential applications as photosensors or photocapacitors in optoelectronics.
