Comparative analysis of the MYB gene family in seven Ipomoea species

Zengzhi Si et al.

Summary: This study performed a comprehensive genome-wide comparative analysis of the MYB gene family in seven Ipomoea species and identified MYB genes in these species. The identified genes were classified into five types, with the MYB-related or R2R3-MYB type being the most abundant. Analysis of gene structure and protein motifs revealed similarities within the same phylogenetic group. Additionally, cis-regulatory elements related to stress responses were detected in the MYB promoters, and differential gene expression in response to stress treatments was observed.

Genome-wide analysis of HSP70 gene superfamily in Pyropia yezoensis (Bangiales, Rhodophyta): identification, characterization and expression profiles in response to dehydration stress

Xinzi Yu et al.

Summary: In this study, 15 putative HSP70 genes in Pyropia yezoensis were investigated and classified into two sub-families. Most genes showed up-regulated expression under dehydration stress, with PyyHSP70-1 and PyyHSP70-3 being highly expressed. The similar expression patterns of paired orthologs in Pyropia yezoensis and Pyropia haitanensis suggest important roles for HSP70s in intertidal environmental adaptation during evolution.
