Acceleration of levofloxacin degradation by combination of multiple free radicals via MoS2 anchored in manganese ferrite doped perovskite activated PMS under visible light

Summary: The nanocomposite of MoS2 embedded manganese ferrite doped perovskite (SrCoO3/MnFe2O4/MoS2) was synthesized for peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation, showing excellent catalytic performance for levofloxacin (LVF) degradation. The SMM-3 with a mass ratio of 0.3 demonstrated the highest degradation efficiency of 95.1% in 20 minutes. Quenching experiments and EPR analysis revealed that SO4- and HO• played a dominant role in the reaction. The rapid redox cycle of metal ions boosted the PMS activation and promoted the degradation of LVF. DFT calculation and LC-MS/MS analysis revealed the main degradation pathways of LVF. T.E.S.T verified the ecological risks of transformation residues.

Summary: In this study, layered coal-bearing strata kaolinite was used as a carrier to prepare MnFe2O4/coal-bearing strata kaolinite catalyst, which showed efficient removal of the antibiotic chlortetracycline hydrochloride in wastewater under visible light. The catalyst exhibited increased specific surface area and reactive sites, leading to better activation of peroxodisulfate and degradation of the antibiotic. The main active species for the removal of the antibiotic were determined to be h+ and center dot O2 & xe213;. The composite material showed good stability and catalytic activity, making it a promising candidate for the photocatalytic degradation of organic matter in wastewater.

Synthesis of chitosan/MnFe2O4 @ reduced graphene oxide aerogel with radial passageway and its application in removing methylene blue from water

A Li-doped ternary Zn0.5Ni0.5Fe2O4 photocatalyst was synthesized and characterized. The results showed that the Li/ZNF photocatalyst has a good decontamination effect on bacteria and TCP, and can be reused multiple times.

Photocatalytic and magnetic properties of Mg substituted cobalt ferrite

Biochar loaded on MnFe2O4 as Fenton catalyst for Rhodamine B removal: Characterizations, catalytic performance, process optimization and mechanism

The introduction of wood flour biochar increased the specific surface area and reduced the aggregation of magnetic nanoparticles, leading to enhanced catalytic activity of MFO-WFB for RhB degradation under optimal conditions of 0.6 g/L MFO-WFB-1.0, 115 mM H2O2, and pH = 4.8. Hydroxyl radicals and superoxide radicals were identified as the main active radicals for the catalyzed photo-Fenton degradation of RhB, and a possible mechanism was proposed based on radical capture experiments and electron spin resonance analysis.

Summary: The novel composite of MnFe2O4@CPB demonstrated excellent adsorption and photo-catalytic degradation performance for MO removal, attributed to hydrogen bonding and pi-pi interactions between MO and MnFe2O4@CPB. The abundant surface functional groups of CPB facilitated the generation of hydroxyl radicals under H2O2, enabling MnFe2O4@CPB to maintain great removal performance in visible LED light/H2O2 system. The redox catalytic cycles of Fe (II)/Fe (III) and Mn (III)/Mn (II) were realized under visible LED light, showing promising potential in wastewater treatment.

This study reports dual component mesoporous frameworks of spinel ferrite ZnFe2O4 and MnFe2O4 nanoparticles as efficient photocatalysts for detoxification of hexavalent chromium and organic pollutants, showing excellent photocatalytic activity in the presence of phenol. Tuning of the composition enhances the performance of the catalyst, mainly due to the suitable band edge positions of constituent nanoparticles that promote charge carriers separation and transportation.

Gold nanoparticles-modified MnFe2O4 with synergistic catalysis for photo-Fenton degradation of tetracycline under neutral pH
