Impact of Sr2+doping on the structural, dielectric, ferroelectric and optical properties of YFeO3 perovskite phosphor

Dinesh Kumar et al.

Summary: In this study, single phase Y1-xSrxFeO3 perovskite phosphors with different Sr2+ concentrations were synthesized by using the sol-gel combustion method. The structural characteristics of Y1-xSrxFeO3 perovskites were investigated using X-ray diffraction data and Rietveld structure refinement. The phosphors exhibited an orthorhombic crystal structure with Pnma space group. The average crystallite size decreased but the lattice strain increased with increasing Sr2+ concentration. The phosphors showed blue, yellow, and red emissions under excitation at 350 and 360 nm, and the emitted color was in the bluish-magenta region of the visible spectrum. The Y1-xSrxFeO3 phosphors may have potential applications in capacitors, display devices, and solid-state lighting.

Facile synthesis of MWCNT-WO3 composites with enhanced photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue dye

Manuela Stan et al.

Summary: In this study, MWCNT-WO3 nanocomposites were successfully prepared and tested for their photocatalytic degradation performance on synthetic MB dye under UV activation. TEM and SEM observations confirmed the attachment of WO3 nanoparticles on MWCNT surface, with improved thermal stability of the composites as WO3 content increased. Photocatalytic experiments demonstrated that the addition of MWCNTs significantly enhanced the degradation efficiency of WO3, particularly shown in the high efficiency of the optimum MWCNT-W-7 composite.

B. Alshahrani et al.

Summary: In this study, spinel ZnCexFe2-xO4 nanoparticles were successfully synthesized using ultrasound irradiation-assisted sol-gel method, demonstrating appropriate elemental stoichiometry and spatial distribution. Characterization results showed the successful synthesis of cubic-structured ZnFe2-xCexO4 without any secondary phases. The Ce3+-substituted Zn ferrites exhibited high saturation magnetization, low coercivity, and remanence magnetization values, making them potential candidates for microwave absorption applications.
