Load Independent Constant Current and Constant Voltage Control of LCC-Series Compensated Wireless EV Charger

Veli Yenil et al.

Summary: This article presents load-independent constant current/voltage control operations of an LCC-Series compensated wireless electrical vehicle (EV) chargers. Using soft switching operation, efficient power transfer to the load is achieved, without the need for wireless communication for output voltage regulation. System performance is validated based on a prototype, showing stable operation under various conditions.

RL-ANN-Based Minimum-Current-Stress Scheme for the Dual-Active-Bridge Converter With Triple-Phase-Shift Control

Yuanhong Tang et al.

Summary: This article proposes a minimum-current-stress scheme based on reinforcement learning and artificial neural network to improve the power efficiency of the dual-active-bridge converter. Q-learning is used for offline training to obtain the optimized control strategy, and an ANN is trained using the results of Q-learning to achieve real-time control and reduce computational time and memory allocation. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

Small-Signal Models of Resonant Converter With Consideration of Different Duty-Cycle Control Schemes

Xin Li et al.

Summary: In this study, the discrepancy between the existing model of duty-cycle controlled resonant converters and simulation/experimental results was found. It was discovered that the phase change in the output voltage of the inverter bridge caused by duty-cycle perturbation was ignored in the existing model. The phase change law is highly dependent on the duty-cycle scheme used and different schemes lead to different phase curves of the duty-cycle-to-output-voltage transfer functions. Care should be taken when selecting the appropriate duty-cycle control scheme.

Analysis, Design, and Implementation of a Spatially Nested Magnetic Integration Method for Inductive Power Transfer Systems

Zhuhaobo Zhang et al.

Summary: A spatially nested magnetic integration method is proposed in this study to integrate discrete inductors into an IPT transformer structure, using unipolar transformer coils and orthogonal decoupling. The experimental results of a 4-kW prototype with 160 mm airgap demonstrate high efficiency and minimal cross coupling in various misalignment cases, with a maximum conversion efficiency of 96.7%.
