Experimental investigation of water spray on suppressing lithium-ion battery fires

Lin Zhang et al.

Summary: Water spray can effectively extinguish LIB fires and reduce the maximum temperature, but has no significant difference in cooling rate after temperature recovery. The contact efficiency decreases with increasing water pressure, impacting the effectiveness of water spray on batteries. Water spray plays a positive role in inhibiting thermal runaway propagation.
