The effects of diesel-OME1 blended fuel on combustion characteristics of a heavy-duty compression ignition engine by a numerical study

K. Ghadamkheir et al.

Summary: Diesel engines play an important role in transportation, but the main issues are the high levels of CO2 and soot emissions. A numerical study found that blending oxymethylene ether with diesel can improve engine performance and reduce emissions. The results showed that using oxymethylene ether can significantly decrease soot and NOx emissions by over 80%, and also reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 66%.

Application of a physics-informed neural network to solve the steady-state Bratu equation arising from solid biofuel combustion theory

Vahid Reza Hosseini et al.

Summary: Physic-Informed Neural Networks (PINN) have gained extensive attention for their ability to describe the physics behind problems without utilizing data-driven techniques, making them suitable for various complex physical and engineering problems. In this study, PINNs are applied to solve the Bratu equation from solid biofuel combustion theory by training a deep neural network to estimate the response with minimal error. The trained PINNs accurately estimate the answer to the problem and present the solution of governing BVPs systematically without prior knowledge of the answer.
