Global trends of pulmonary infections with nontuberculous mycobacteria: a systematic review

Summary: This study describes global trends in pulmonary non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) infection and disease. Most studies reported an increasing trend in pulmonary NTM infection and disease, especially for Mycobacterium avium complex and Mycobacterium abscessus complex infections. The results indicate a gradual increase in the incidence of NTM infection and disease worldwide.
