An in silico deep learning approach to multi-epitope vaccine design: a SARS-CoV-2 case study

Zikun Yang et al.

Summary: The study introduces an in silico deep learning approach, DeepVacPred, for designing a multi-epitope vaccine against SARS-CoV-2, predicting and evaluating potential vaccine subunits, and ultimately constructing a 694aa multi-epitope vaccine that shows promise in combating the viral infection.

Immunoinformatics Design of Multi-Epitope Peptide-Based Vaccine Against Schistosoma mansoni Using Transmembrane Proteins as a Target

Rodrigo C. O. Sanches et al.

Summary: In this study, a robust immunoinformatics approach was applied to construct a chimeric antigen targeting S. mansoni transmembrane proteins, resulting in a stable and non-allergenic multi-epitope vaccine with the potential to induce B-cell and IFN-gamma based immunity. The molecular docking and dynamics showed stable interactions with the immune receptor TLR 4, indicating that the multi-epitope vaccine might stimulate humoral and cellular immune responses as a potential candidate against schistosomiasis.

Immuno-informatics design of a multimeric epitope peptide based vaccine targeting SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoprotein

Onyeka S. Chukwudozie et al.

Summary: Developing an effective vaccine for SARS-CoV-2 is crucial in fighting COVID-19. By using a bioinformatic approach, potential epitopes for the vaccine were identified in the spike protein of the virus, showing promising antigenicity for B and T cell recognition. The in silico chimeric peptide vaccine was designed to elicit high immune response and showed a decrease in antigen levels upon immune simulations.

Vaccinomics-driven proteome-wide screening of Haemophilus influenzae for the prediction of common putative vaccine candidates

Naseeha Bibi et al.

Summary: The study aimed to identify universally conserved antigenic regions of Haemophilus influenzae for developing new vaccines. Through comprehensive geno-proteomic analysis using bioinformatics tools, five predicted novel vaccine candidate target proteins were identified.
