Fe3O4-MNPs@MMT-K10: a reusable catalyst for synthesis of propargyl 4-aryl-4H-pyran-3-carboxyles via one-pot three-component reaction under microwave-assisted solvent-free conditions

Summary: In this study, a recoverable heterogeneous magnetic nano-catalyst Fe3O4-MNPs@MMT-K10 was successfully prepared and characterized. The catalytic behavior of this catalyst was efficiently utilized for the synthesis of highly substituted pyran/chromene derivatives through a three-component condensation reaction. The catalyst exhibited important features such as short reaction times, excellent yields, lower loading, easy work-up, and recyclability.

Summary: A novel ZrO2 supported on a magnetic biochar material (CoFe2O4/BC-ZrO2) was synthesized and characterized. The catalyst exhibited high catalytic activity for the synthesis of spiro[furo[3,4-b]quinoline via a one-pot three-component reaction. It could be easily recovered by an external magnetic field and reused multiple times without significant loss of activity.

DFT stimulation and experimental insights of chiral Cu(ii)-salen scaffold within the pocket of MWW-zeolite and its catalytic study

Summary: A Cu(ii)-salen complex encapsulated in MWW-framework was developed as an efficient chiral organocatalyst for synthesizing 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2-(1H)-one (DHPMs) derivatives asymmetrically. Various techniques were used to confirm its structural properties. The Cu(ii)-salen complex was optimized to fit into the MWW support while maintaining its chirality through computer-assisted DFT calculations. This organocatalyst exhibited potent catalytic activity and could be reused multiple times without significant loss of activity.

Asymmetric hydrogenation using a covalently immobilized Ru-BINOL-AP@MSNs catalyst

Summary: This study presents a novel method for immobilizing chiral (S)-1,1'-Bi-2-naphthol ligand (BINOL) onto amine functionalized mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) via a linker, without the use of protecting or deprotecting groups. The resulting ruthenium complex, Ru-BINOL-AP@MSNs, was successfully synthesized and verified using various analytical techniques. The synthesized catalyst demonstrated high activity and enantioselectivity in the asymmetric transformations of chiral alcohols. Additionally, the catalyst showed excellent recyclability and maintained its effectiveness after five consecutive cycles.

Green sustainable approach for carbon-carbon bond-forming reactions using FeNPs/DETA@rGO nano-catalyst

Summary: In this study, we fabricated a novel nano-catalyst FeNPs/DETA@rGO with a dual activation mechanism. The catalyst exhibits excellent characteristics in terms of both base and acid properties, enabling efficient catalysis of carbon-carbon bond formation. Moreover, the catalyst showed good stability even after multiple cycles of recycling.

Summary: A novel base-metal multifunctional nanomagnetic catalyst was prepared by immobilizing tungstate anions onto gamma-Fe2O3 supported with imidazolium moieties. This catalyst was used for the synthesis of 2-amino-3-cyano-4H-chromenes from alcohols via a multicomponent tandem oxidation process under solvent-free conditions. The catalyst showed high efficiency and could be easily recovered and reused.

CuBr-promoted domino Biginelli reaction for the diastereoselective synthesis of bridged polyheterocycles: Mechanism studies and in vitro anti-tumor activities

Summary: This study investigated the low-cost CuBr-promoted domino Biginelli reaction under solvothermal conditions and successfully synthesized novel bridged polyheterocycles. The reaction mechanism was elucidated, and the antitumor activity of the synthesized compounds was evaluated. The findings suggest that the synthesized polyheterocycles have potential medicinal value and provide fragmentation rules for rapid structural identification.

Fe3O4-supported sulfonated graphene oxide as a green and magnetically separable nanocatalyst for synthesis of 2-amino-3-cyano-4H-chromene derivatives and their in-silico studies

Summary: In this study, 17 examples of 2-Amino-3-cyano-4H-chromene derivatives were prepared via a one-pot three components domino Knoevenagel-Michael condensation reaction. The reaction was conducted under ultrasound irradiation using Fe3O4-supported sulfonated graphene oxide as a green and magnetically separable nanocatalyst. The synthesis protocol showed high atom economy, excellent yields, and other advantages such as short reaction time and recyclability of the catalyst. In-silico studies were conducted to analyze the docking interactions of the compounds with selected proteins, and ADME and toxicity analysis were also performed.
