Twenty Years of Machine-Learning-Based Text Classification: A Systematic Review

Ashokkumar Palanivinayagam et al.

Summary: Machine-learning-based text classification is a leading research area with various applications. This paper surveys 224 papers published between 2003 and 2022 that employed machine learning for text classification, analyzing the differences in terms of datasets, models, accuracy, evaluation metrics, splitting methods, and comparisons. The limitations and research gaps in the literature are highlighted, indicating the need for improvement. This survey paper will be beneficial for researchers in the field.

Spatial-Temporal Land Use and Land Cover Changes in Urban Areas Using Remote Sensing Images and GIS Analysis: The Case Study of Opole, Poland

Barbara Wiatkowska et al.

Summary: This study utilized satellite imagery and GIS technology to analyze changes in land use and cover in Opole, Poland over a period of 20 years, revealing a 40% increase in built-up areas mainly at the expense of agricultural land. The highest rates of increase in built-up areas were observed in zones 3-6 km and above 6 km from the center of Opole. The research suggests that urbanization processes are leading to demographic suburbanization in Opole, as shown through the analysis of built-up land increase relative to decreasing population.
