Design, Dynamics Modeling, and Experiments of a Vibration Energy Harvester on Bicycle

Peihao Chen et al.

Summary: This study proposes a vibration energy harvester for bicycles based on a directional variable inertia flywheel and a coaxial mechanical motion rectifier. The experimental results demonstrate that the directional variable inertia flywheel is beneficial for increasing the output power, achieving a maximum output power of 1.73 W. In road tests, an average output power of 2.11 W and a maximum power of 9.77 W were achieved.

Review and Analysis of Magnetic Energy Harvesters: A Case Study for Vehicular Applications

Javad Enayati et al.

Summary: This paper presents a review and analysis of the applications of magnetic energy harvester (MEH) in wireless sensor networks (WSN), and classifies them based on technical characteristics and working principles. The optimal energy harvester is selected through a case study of supplying power to navigational sensors on the rotating wheels of vehicles. An electromagnetic field analysis of the studied MEH is conducted using Ansys Maxwell software.
