Semantic Features-Based Discourse Analysis Using Deceptive and Real Text Reviews

Summary: Social media usage is increasing for news, service feedback, and shopping. Hotel services and customer reviews, both positive and negative, are discussed online. However, there is a growing problem of fake reviews and deceptive practices, which requires automated discourse analysis to validate the genuineness of reviews. This study proposes using semantically aware features to detect deception in text, and the results indicate their effectiveness.

Summary: This study proposes a novel approach to enhance BERT's performance on semantic textual matching tasks by injecting prior knowledge directly into BERT's multi-head attention mechanism. Experimental results show that the knowledge-enhanced BERT consistently improves performance, especially when training data is scarce.
