Identification of the characteristics of infiltrating immune cells in pulpitis and its potential molecular regulation mechanism by bioinformatics method

Jing Wang et al.

Summary: This study explores the function of immune cells and their regulatory molecules and signal pathways in pulpitis by analyzing dental pulp tissues. It was found that chemokine signaling, TNF signaling, and NF-kappa B signaling are involved in the development of pulpitis. Significant differences in immune cell infiltration were observed between normal and inflamed dental pulp, with M0 macrophages and neutrophils identified as the most important immune cells. IL-6, TNF-alpha, IL-1 beta, CXCL8, and CCL2 may be essential molecules in the immune response regulation network in pulpitis.

Toll-Like Receptors and Dental Mesenchymal Stromal Cells

Oleh Andrukhov

Summary: Dental mesenchymal stromal cells have multilineage differentiation potential and immunomodulatory properties, being exposed to various microorganisms in the oral cavity. Activation of Toll-like receptors in these cells induces proinflammatory mediator production, while TLR ligands also alter their immunomodulatory abilities.
