Artificial intelligence in liver cancers: Decoding the impact of machine learning models in clinical diagnosis of primary liver cancers and liver cancer metastases

Anita Bakrania et al.

Summary: Liver cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer-related deaths globally. Recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) have led to the development of algorithms for pre-screening, diagnosis, and management of liver cancer patients. Challenges such as explaining the 'black box' of AI and achieving clinical translatability still need to be addressed. Additionally, the application of AI in RNA nanomedicine shows potential in targeted liver cancer therapy. This paper discusses the current landscape, challenges, and future perspectives of AI in liver cancer, including its multidisciplinary approach in nanomedicine.

Predicting high-grade prostate cancer at initial biopsy: clinical performance of the ExoDx (EPI) Prostate Intelliscore test in three independent prospective studies

Erik Margolis et al.

Summary: The EPI test is a reliable noninvasive method that can discriminate between high-grade prostate cancer, low-grade cancer, and benign diseases. By pooling data from three independent studies, it was found that the EPI test performs better in distinguishing between prostate cancer pathologies (GG1 and GG2 and above).

SKCV: Stratified K-fold cross-validation on ML classifiers for predicting cervical cancer

Sashikanta Prusty et al.

Summary: This article investigates the use of machine learning techniques to predict cervical cancer and compares different diagnostic tests and machine learning models. The experimental findings demonstrate that utilizing an RF classifier can be a good alternative for assisting clinical specialists in early diagnosis of cervical cancer.

An integrated multi-omics analysis identifies prognostic molecular subtypes of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer

Sia Viborg Lindskrog et al.

Summary: Non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer shows large biological heterogeneity, with transcriptomic analysis identifying four classes that reflect disease aggressiveness and patient outcomes. Chromosomal instability, p53 pathway disruption, and APOBEC-related mutations are significantly associated with tumor class 2a and poorer outcomes.
