Multicenter External Validation of a Nomogram for Predicting Positive Prostate-specific Membrane Antigen/Positron Emission Tomography Scan in Patients with Prostate Cancer Recurrence

Diagnostic Performance and Clinical Impact of 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT Imaging in Early Relapsed Prostate Cancer After Radical Therapy: A Prospective Multicenter Study (IAEA-PSMA Study)

Summary: Biochemical recurrence (BCR) in prostate cancer (PCa) patients remains a clinical challenge. This study evaluated the diagnostic performance and clinical impact of PSMA PET/CT for evaluating BCR in PCa patients on a worldwide scale. The results showed that PSMA PET/CT had the capability to detect local and metastatic recurrence in most PCa patients with BCR. The positivity of PSMA PET/CT results was correlated with various factors, including the Gleason score and primary treatment strategy, and led to changes in therapeutic management in more than half of the patients. The study demonstrated the reliability and feasibility of PSMA PET/CT in the workup of PCa with BCR.

Pathological predictors of F-18-DCFPyL prostate-specific membrane antigen-positive recurrence after radical prostatectomy

Summary: This study assessed the correlation between pathological features of radical prostatectomy specimens, prostate-specific antigen (PSA) characteristics, and imaging findings on F-18-DCFPyL positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) in patients with biochemical failure (BF). The results showed that patients with increasing PSA velocity, higher International Society of Urological Pathology (ISUP) Grade Group, lymphovascular invasion, and nodal positivity at the time of radical prostatectomy were more likely to have abnormal prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) expression on PET/CT. Additionally, higher PSA level, adjuvant radiotherapy, higher Gleason score, and nodal positivity were predictive of PSMA positivity. The findings of this study have implications for the identification of patients with localized disease in the prostate bed or pelvis who have a greater chance of prolonged disease-free survival.

E-PSMA: the EANM standardized reporting guidelines v1.0 for PSMA-PET

An expert panel actively participated in a modified Delphi consensus process to implement structured reporting for PSMA-PET. The E-PSMA standardized reporting guidelines supported by the European Association of Nuclear Medicine offer consensus statements among experts in PSMA-PET imaging to harmonize diagnostic interpretation criteria.
