Five-year outcomes from a prospective, multicenter study of endovascular repair of iliac artery aneurysms using an iliac branch device

Darren B. Schneider et al.

Summary: This study reports the 5-year results of a pivotal prospective, multicenter study in the United States on the use of a specifically designed iliac branch endoprosthesis (IBE) for endovascular repair of aortoiliac and iliac artery aneurysms. The results show high patency rates of the IBE limbs and no aneurysm-related mortality. Additionally, the IBE effectively prevents common iliac artery aneurysm rupture and avoids complications associated with internal iliac artery sacrifice.

A cross-sectional study on the anatomic feasibility of iliac side branch grafts in a real-world setting

Ryan Gouveia e Melo et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the feasibility of different commercially available iliac branch devices in a cohort of patients with aorto-iliac aneurysms in Europe. The results showed that only 65.5% of patients were feasible with one of the available devices, and Cook ZBIS had the highest feasibility. The use of adjunctive measures and a more liberal approach increased the overall feasibility to 95.8%.

Predictors and Consequences of Sac Shrinkage after Endovascular Infrarenal Aortic Aneurysm Repair

Sebastien Michel Vedani et al.

Summary: This study found that shrinkage of the aneurysm sac is not significantly associated with improved survival rates or reduced risk of secondary interventions. Regardless of shrinkage, the risk of secondary interventions seems to be more closely linked to compliance with the instructions for use.
