Data quality and auditing within the Netherlands Heart Registration: using the PCI registry as an example

Summary: The aim of this article is to present the method and results of the data quality control system and audit within the Netherlands Heart Registration (NHR) using data of patients treated with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in the Netherlands as an example. The study found that the overall quality of the data is high, with a high consistency for all variables except for multivessel disease.

Differences in Outcome of Patients with Cardiogenic Shock Associated with In-Hospital or Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest

Summary: Cardiogenic shock (CS) patients with in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) have higher 30-day all-cause mortality compared to those with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). This association is primarily driven by patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI), while IHCA is not associated with mortality in non-AMI patients. Multivariable analysis confirms that IHCA is solely associated with higher 30-day all-cause mortality in AMI patients, but not in the non-AMI group and CAD subgroups. CS patients with IHCA and AMI have significantly increased all-cause mortality at 30 days, while there is no difference when differentiated by CAD.

Predictive Model and Risk Score for In-Hospital Mortality in Patients with All-Cause Cardiogenic Shock Santiago Shock Score (S3)

Non-STEMI vs. STEMI Cardiogenic Shock: Clinical Profile and Long-Term Outcomes

This study analyzed the clinical profile, acute-phase prognosis, and long-term outcomes of cardiogenic shock patients based on the ST pattern on admission. It was found that patients with elevated ST segment had higher 30-day mortality, but no differences in long-term outcomes were observed.
