Cerebellar infarction caused by vertebral artery dissection: A case report

Jing Zhao et al.

Summary: This report describes a young patient with cerebellar infarction caused by dissection of the right vertebral artery. The patient experienced intermittent dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, and transient tinnitus, which gradually worsened along with vomiting and unfavorable movement of the right limbs. After treatment, the patient showed remarkable improvement in symptoms and had a favorable prognosis.

Assessment and recovery of visually guided reaching deficits following cerebellar stroke

Chella M. Robles et al.

Summary: The cerebellum plays a vital role in coordinating and timing limb movements. This study examined how cerebellar lesions affected reach kinematics to assess motor impairment and recovery. The findings showed deficits in feed-forward and feedback control in cerebellar patients, but significant recovery over time.

Cerebellar ataxia, neuropathy and vestibular areflexia syndrome (CANVAS): genetic and clinical aspects

Andrea Cortese et al.

Summary: CANVAS syndrome typically presents in middle age with a combination of neuropathy, ataxia and vestibular disease, which may be caused by biallelic AAGGG expansions in the RFC1 gene. The frequency and phenotype spectrum of the disease are increasing, requiring a comprehensive diagnosis.

Injury of the vestibulocerebellar tract in a patient with intracerebral hemorrhage: A case report

Sang Seok Yeo et al.

Summary: In this study, the authors used diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) to investigate the injury of the vestibulocerebellar tract (VCT) in a patient with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). They found that the patient's ataxia may be related to the injury of the VCT. This study provides important insights for evaluating and managing patients with ataxia following cerebellar injury.

Anatomical Location of the Vestibulocerebellar Tract in the Healthy Human Brain: A Diffusion Tensor Imaging Study

Seo Yoon Park et al.

Summary: The vestibulocerebellar tract (VCT) is an important pathway in the central vestibular system. Through diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) tractography, the anatomical characteristics of the primary and secondary VCTs were identified in a normal human brain. Results showed significant differences in fractional anisotropies (FAs) and mean diffusivity (MD) values between the primary and secondary VCTs.

Prediction of the motor prognosis with diffusion tensor imaging in hemorrhagic stroke: a meta-analysis

Min Cheol Chang et al.

Summary: A meta-analysis showed that the ratio of fractional anisotropy calculated from diffusion tensor imaging performed within 2 weeks or after 2 weeks of intracerebral hemorrhage onset was predictive of motor recovery. This indicates the potential of using DTI to predict motor outcomes after ICH, with further research needed for a more comprehensive understanding.
