Effect of the spacer on the structure and self-assembly of FF peptide mimetics

Olamilekan Joseph Ibukun et al.

Summary: We designed and synthesized a series of FF peptide mimetics with different spacers to study their structure and self-assembly. The results help understand biomolecular aggregation and provide a strategy to obtain fractal pattern materials.

Regioselective Synthesis of N2-Aryl 1,2,3-Triazoles via Electro- oxidative Coupling of Enamines and Aryldiazonium Salts

Mrinmay Baidya et al.

Summary: An efficient synthetic route for constructing N-2-aryl 1,2,3-triazoles was reported via sequential C-N bond formation and electro-oxidative N-N coupling under metal-free conditions. The developed protocol, utilizing readily accessible starting materials, showed excellent functional group tolerance and yielded up to 91% isolated yield. Mechanistic studies and isolation of an intermediate adduct suggested successive ionic and radical reaction sequences.

Proof of Concept: Interface of Recyclable Organogels with Embedded Palladium Nanoparticles Catalyzing Suzuki-Miyaura Coupling in Water at Room Temperature

Srayoshi Roy Chowdhury et al.

Summary: A sustainable approach for C-C cross-coupling reaction at room temperature in water has been developed, which avoids tedious Pd separation, reduces the carbon footprint, and saves energy. The study also introduces alpha,gamma-Hybrid peptides as ligands for C-C cross-coupling catalysts and as materials for forming organogels. The findings offer insights into a green technology for Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction and an innovative avenue for catalyst recycling and product isolation.

Modulating defibrillation by tryptophan-mediated photo cleavage of disulfide bonds

Sahabaj Mondal et al.

Summary: The tryptophan-mediated photo cleavage of disulfide bonds and resulting defibrillation process has been demonstrated. A supramolecular fiber-like network structure is formed through the self-assembly of dibenzyloxycarbonyl-L-cystine by non-covalent interactions, resulting in a hydrogel. The hydrogel shows thixotropic properties and is responsive to heat and pH. However, UV irradiation leads to disulfide bond cleavage, causing defibrillation and a gel-to-sol transition. The fiber exhibits amyloid-like structure and positive results in the Congo red assay.
