We have developed a recyclable perovskite-graphene heterostructure for high-performance X-ray detection in medical imaging. The graphene pixel maintains high mobility even after perovskite deposition, enabling efficient conversion for ultrahigh sensitivity. By increasing the operational bias of the graphene channel, the signal-to-noise ratio of X-ray detection can be significantly improved. The perovskite layer can be easily washed off without damaging the graphene, making our heterostructure X-ray detector recyclable.
We present a recyclable perovskite-graphene heterostructurethat demonstrates ultrahigh X-ray detection sensitivities over 10(8) & mu;C/Gy(air)& BULL;cm(2) for medicalimaging applications. The high mobility of the graphene pixel is preservedto over 1200 cm(2)/V & BULL;s after perovskite deposition andenables large conversion efficiency for ultrahigh sensitivity. Increasingthe operational bias of the graphene channel increased the X-ray detectionsignal-to-noise ratio from 30 to over 200. The perovskite can be washedoff by an organic solvent at room temperature without damaging thegraphene. Redepositing the perovskite layer retains the detectors'high gain, making our heterostructure X-ray detector a recyclabledevice. The perovskite-graphene device exhibits robust operationgiven 10,000 gate sweeps and multicycle X-ray irradiations. Here wehave demonstrated a high-performance, low-cost, plug-and-play solutionwith a recyclable design that could significantly reduce the manufacturingand maintenance costs associated with X-ray cameras in medical imaging.
