Optimal electric vehicles charging scheduling for energy and reserve markets considering wind uncertainty and generator contingency

Pranda Prasanta Gupta et al.

Summary: This paper presents a stochastic AC security-constrained unit commitment (SCUC) model to manage power systems in the presence of uncertain wind power and transportation networks, introducing a structure with the most effective outages to optimize the system. The proposed model is solved using a bender decomposition approach, showing that optimal EV travel scheduling can optimize the transportation network and energy reserve for a secure power system operation with minimum cost.

A bilevel conic optimization model for routing and charging of EV fleets serving long distance delivery networks

Vignesh Subramanian et al.

Summary: The recent unveiling of electric semi-trucks by various electric vehicle manufacturers suggests that a portion of the current long-distance transportation fleets may be electrified in the near future. To select the optimal travel routes, operators of electric fleets need to consider charging station availability, charging costs, as well as common factors such as traffic congestion and travel time. This study presents a model that combines transportation and electric power networks to develop optimal routing strategies.

Optimal planning of Cross-regional hydrogen energy storage systems considering the uncertainty

Yibin Qiu et al.

Summary: This study explores the application of hydrogen energy storage systems (HESS) for cross-regional consumption of renewable energy while considering uncertainty. The optimal placement and sizing of HESS are determined using a two-layer planning model and a solution method that combines the modified Backtracking Search Algorithm (MBSA) and Yalmip/Cplex. The simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed planning model and solution method, showing that MBSA outperforms traditional BSA in terms of convergence speed and global search capability.
