Recycled polystyrene/polyvinylpyrrolidone/reduced graphene oxide nanocomposites for optoelectronic devices

Electrical, optical and dielectric properties of polyvinylpyrrolidone/ graphene nanoplatelet nanocomposites

Summary: Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) nanocomposite films with different volume fractions of graphene nanoplatelets (GnP) were prepared using the solution casting method. The optical, electrical, and dielectric properties of these films were investigated using UV-Vis absorbance spectroscopy, reflectance spectroscopy, and two-point probe resistivity measurement techniques. The optical band gap energies of the PVP/GnP nanocomposites were determined using various methods and the basic optical parameters were also examined. The results showed that as the GnP volume fraction increased, the electrical conductivity, Urbach energy, refractive index, optical conductivity, and dielectric constant increased while the band gap energy decreased. These nanocomposites have potential applications in optics, electricity, optoelectronics, and various industries.

Electrical conductivity and thermal stability of surface-modified multiwalled carbon nanotubes/polysulfone/poly(p-phenylenediamine) composites

Summary: Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were functionalized with acid and coated with poly(p-phenylenediamine) (PpPD) to prepare MWCNTs@PpPD nanocomposites. The addition of modified MWCNTs improved the electrical conductivity and thermal stability of the composites. Treatment with HCl further enhanced the conductivity of the composites.

High-Dielectric PVP@PANI/PDMS Composites Fabricated via an Electric Field-Assisted Approach

Summary: In this study, polymer-based composite films with multiple properties were fabricated using an electric field-assisted method. By modifying PANI to form core-shell structure functional particles and using PDMS as the matrix, the dielectric constant of the composites was significantly improved. This research provides important insights for aligning fillers in polymer matrix to form composites with enhanced dielectric properties.

Natural Cellulosic Fiber from Coccinia Indica Stem for Polymer Composites: Extraction and Characterization

Compressive behavior and thermal conductivity-density correlation of expanded polystyrene thermal insulators

Summary: The relationship between EPS density and compressive stress at 10% deformation and thermal conductivity was studied. Experimental results showed that thermal conductivity decreases non-linearly with increasing EPS density, while compressive stress at 10% deformation increases linearly with the increase of EPS density.

Thermal and electrical conductivity of a graphene-based hybrid filler epoxy composite

Summary: The study successfully enhanced the thermal conductivity of epoxy composites by using a hybrid filler of graphene nanoplatelets and boron nitride microparticles, with the addition of microparticles showing better results than nanoscale particles. The thermal conductivity of the composites changed significantly with increasing microparticle loading at a fixed graphene nanoplatelet loading.

Influence of graphene oxide on the morphological and mechanical behaviour of compatibilized low density polyethylene nanocomposites

Summary: The study analyzed the effect of graphene oxide distribution on the properties of polyolefin matrices, using MA-g-PE as a compatilizer to incorporate GO into LDPE through melt-mixing technique. Various characterization methods were used to investigate the impact of compatibilizer and GO on the nanocomposites, showing enhancements in mechanical properties due to improved distribution of nanofillers.
