The effect of Li2O on the evaporation and structure of low-fluoride slag for vacuum electroslag remelting

Summary: The study showed that increasing Li2O content significantly increased the evaporation of fluoride from the molten slag, resulting in decreased melting temperature and viscosity. The Li2O-bearing slag mainly evaporated LiF and CaF2, with LiF evaporating rapidly at a vacuum of 10 Pa and increasing at higher temperatures. Higher vacuum levels also led to increased fluoride evaporation.
