Physico-mechanical, thermal insulation and resistance characteristics of diatomite and attapulgite based geopolymer foam concrete: Effect of different curing regimes

Gokhan Kaplan et al.

Summary: This study examined the characteristics of geopolymer foam concrete (GFC) produced with attapulgite and diatomite. The study focused on the physicomechanical, durability, and microstructure properties of GFC. Different amounts of attapulgite and foam dosage were used, and three curing methods were employed. The results showed that a blend with 20% attapulgite and a foam dosage of 30 kg/m(3) produced the most desirable properties in terms of strength, thermal insulation, and durability.

Experimental Study on Flexural Performance of HSS-UHPC Composite Beams with Perfobond Strip Connectors

Shaohua He et al.

Summary: This study investigates the flexural performance of HSS-UHPC composite beams by fabricating and testing beams with varying levels of interfacial shear connectivity, perfobond strip connector (PBL) arrangements, and concrete deck thicknesses. The experimental results show that despite being lightweight, HSS-UHPC composite beams exhibit high flexural stiffness and favorable ductility. The PBL arrangement and UHPC deck thickness have significant effects on the beam's behavior.

Mechanical properties and absorption of lightweight concrete using lightweight aggregate from diatomaceous earth

Muttaqin Hasan et al.

Summary: This study focused on the mechanical properties of lightweight concrete produced using diatomaceous earth as lightweight aggregates. Two methods of producing lightweight aggregates were compared, showing that the addition of 5% sawdust can improve the performance and reduce the density of lightweight concrete.
