Properties prediction of environmentally friendly ultra-high-performance concrete using artificial neural networks

Joaquin Abellan Garcia et al.

Summary: This research aims to build analytical models for predicting the compressive strengths and slump flow of ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC). Recycled glass powder, fluid catalytic cracking residue, and different particle size limestone powder were used as partial replacements for Portland cement and silica fume. Artificial neural network (ANN) models were utilized for prediction, which showed a certain level of prediction error values.

Flexural behavior of environmentally friendly ultra-high-performance concrete with locally available low-cost synthetic fibers

Andres Leonardo Neira Medina et al.

Summary: This study focused on the cost-benefit analysis of ultra-high-performance fiber reinforced concrete, using low-cost synthetic fiber reinforcement. The results showed that different volume fractions of fibers affect the material's deflection hardening condition. Synthetic fibers outperformed high-strength steel fibers in terms of cost and toughness.

Effects of nano cotton stalk and palm leaf ashes on ultrahigh-performance concrete properties incorporating recycled concrete aggregates

Mohamed Amin et al.

Summary: The study investigated the effects of using NCSA and PLA as partial replacements for cement in UHPC, finding that substitutions with NCSA and PLA achieved the highest compressive strengths at 90 days and that a mixture of 20% PLA and 5% NCSA showed the highest values of splitting tensile strength, flexural strength, and elastic modulus.

The effect of using nano rice husk ash of different burning degrees on ultra-high-performance concrete properties

A. Serag Faried et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of seven different types of nano rice husk ash (NRHA) on the performance of ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC). The results showed that the addition of NRHA can enhance the compressive strength and impermeability of UHPC.

Interaction between global warming potential, durability, and structural properties of fiber-reinforced concrete with high waste materials inclusion

Wilson Nguyen et al.

Summary: The study develops a green hybrid fiber-reinforced concrete with reduced environmental impact and enhanced durability through recycled concrete aggregates, high-volume fly ash, and internal fiber reinforcement. Results indicate that this high-performance concrete, which eliminates the need for industrial waste, can maintain greater flexural strength after corrosion has started.
