Associations between alcohol consumption and anxiety, depression, and health-related quality of life in colorectal cancer survivors

Dora Revesz et al.

Summary: Alcohol consumption in CRC survivors in the first 2 years post-diagnosis is longitudinally associated with lower anxiety and depression symptoms and better HRQoL, particularly for beer and wine consumption, and more significant in men and younger individuals. More research is needed to understand the reasons for drinking and causality.

Incorporating the Patient Voice in Sarcoma Research: How Can We Assess Health-Related Quality of Life in This Heterogeneous Group of Patients? A Study Protocol

Dide den Hollander et al.

Summary: Sarcomas are a rare and heterogeneous group of tumors, making it challenging to develop a specific HRQoL measurement instrument. This study aims to create a list of HRQoL issues relevant to sarcoma patients and determine a strategy for HRQoL assessment through an international, multicenter approach. By involving sarcoma patients and healthcare professionals in rating and prioritizing these issues, a tailored framework for HRQoL measurement in sarcoma patients will be established.

Patient-Reported Outcomes in Sarcoma: A scoping review

Ana Almeida et al.

Summary: Understanding the patient's perspective in sarcoma is crucial, and patient-reported outcomes (PROs) play a key role in evaluating their needs. Commonly evaluated PROs in sarcoma patients include health-related quality of life, functional outcomes, mental health aspects, and specific symptoms. The use of specific and new measurement strategies tailored to sarcoma patients is recommended for more accurate reflections of their perceptions.

Utilization of Interdisciplinary Tumor Boards for Sarcoma Care in Germany: Results from the PROSa Study

Martin Eichler et al.

Summary: Data on institutional structures of sarcoma care in Germany are limited, but the use of an interdisciplinary tumor board (IDTB) is found to be common, especially in certified cancer centers and high-volume centers. However, the implementation of using IDTB before therapy initiation is progressing but still needs improvement.
