Lattice QCD Calculation of π0 → e+ e- Decay

Norman Christ et al.

Summary: We extend the application of lattice QCD to calculate the rare decay pi(0) -> e(+)e(-) mediated by two photons. By combining Minkowski-and Euclidean-space methods, we are able to directly calculate the complex amplitude describing this decay from the underlying theories. The results provide more accurate values for various parameters and lay the foundation for further calculations on the two-photon-mediated decay amplitude contributing to the rare decay K -> mu(+)mu(-).

Lattice QCD Calculation of the Pion Mass Splitting

Xu Feng et al.

Summary: In this study, the infinite volume reconstruction method is used to calculate the mass difference between charged and neutral pions. The hadronic tensor is computed using lattice QCD and combined with an analytic photon propagator. By performing a continuum extrapolation and examining finite-volume effects, the calculated pion mass splitting is found to agree well with experimental measurements.

The glueball content of ηc

Renqiang Zhang et al.

Summary: This study presents the first lattice QCD derivation of the mixing energy and mixing angle between pseudoscalar charmonium and glueball. The results suggest a possible connection between the mixing and the large total width of the eta(c) meson. However, further experimental measurements are needed to alleviate the discrepancy between theoretical predictions and experimental results.

Lattice QCD Calculation of the Two-Photon Exchange Contribution to the Muonic-Hydrogen Lamb Shift

Yang Fu et al.

Summary: In this study, a lattice QCD calculation method was developed to calculate the two-photon exchange contribution to the muonic-hydrogen Lamb shift. The calculated results were consistent with previous theoretical results in a range of 20-50 mu eV.

Lattice QCD calculation of the light sterile neutrino contribution in 0ν2β decay

Xin-Yu Tuo et al.

Summary: This lattice QCD study on neutrinoless double beta decay involving light sterile neutrinos provides results for low-energy constants, showing good consistency with previous methods. The research explains discrepancies at small neutrino masses and demonstrates agreement with previous lattice determinations at large neutrino masses.

Lattice QCD calculation of K → lνll′+l′- decay width

Xin-Yu Tuo et al.

Summary: We develop a methodology using lattice QCD to compute the decay width of K -> l nu(l)l '(+)l '(-) and present an exploratory study. By employing the scalar function method and the infinite-volume reconstruction method, we consider the momentum dependence of the decay amplitude and reduce systematic errors. Our results show the potential of lattice QCD in improving the Standard Model prediction for the K -> l nu(l)l '(+)l '(-) decay width.

Lattice QCD calculation of the electroweak box diagrams for the kaon semileptonic decays

Peng-Xiang Ma et al.

Summary: We conducted a lattice QCD calculation to study the axial gamma W-box diagrams relevant for kaon semileptonic decays. By utilizing a recently proposed method, we were able to connect electroweak radiative corrections in Sirlin's representation to that in chiral perturbation theory, allowing us to confirm low energy constants from first principles. Our results also showed a significant reduction in uncertainties compared to previous models.

Finite-volume effects in long-distance processes with massless leptonic propagators

Norman H. Christ et al.

Summary: The proposed method calculates QED corrections to hadronic self-energies from lattice QCD without power-law finite-volume errors. The extension of the method to processes occurring at second order in the weak interaction, despite the presence of an almost massless leptonic propagator, allows for obtaining rare kaon decay amplitudes with exponentially small finite-volume corrections from lattice QCD computations.

First lattice calculation of radiative leptonic decay rates of pseudoscalar mesons

A. Desiderio et al.

Summary: The study presents a nonperturbative lattice calculation method for accurately predicting the leptonic decay rates of pseudoscalar mesons, distinguishing contributions from different factors in the amplitude, and also focuses on the evaluation of leptonic decay rates with emission of a hard photon.
