Enhancing the structural, thermal, and dielectric properties of the polymer nanocomposites based on polymer blend and barium titanate nanoparticles for application in energy storage

Mervet R. Atta et al.

Summary: Solution casting and ultrasonic-assisted solution-cast methods were used to create polymer nanocomposites films based on polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) filled with varying concentrations of BaTiO3 nanoparticles. The properties of the nanocomposites, such as conductivity, dielectric constant, and dielectric loss, were investigated as a function of BaTiO3 concentration. The results show significant variations in the properties of the nanocomposites with different BaTiO3 concentrations, which have potential applications in polymer organic semiconductors, energy storage, polymer solar cells, and nanoelectronics.

Modification and development of the optical, structural, thermal and electrical characterization of Chitosan incorporated with Au/Bi2O3/Mo NPs fabricated by laser ablation

Rami Adel Pashameah et al.

Summary: The molecular structures, surface morphology, and thermal/electrical properties of chitosan incorporated with ternary metal nanoparticles (Au/Bi2O3/Mo) were investigated. The results showed that doping with metal nanoparticles improved the thermal stability and AC conductivity of the samples. This study suggests the potential utilization of Cs/metal nanocomposites in energy storage.

Perspectives on composite films of chitosan-based natural products (Ginger, Curcumin, and Cinnamon) as biomaterials for wound dressing

Khadiga Ahmed Ismail et al.

Summary: Natural materials are increasingly favored for wound healing and food applications due to their potential to address environmental concerns associated with traditional materials. In this study, biomaterials based on chitosan incorporated with natural products (ginger, curcumin, and cinnamon) were successfully fabricated. The antimicrobial properties of the materials were investigated, confirming their effectiveness against various microorganisms. The interaction between chitosan and the natural products was confirmed through XRD patterns, FTIR-ATR, and FTIR spectra. The optical and mechanical properties of the materials were also studied, with chitosan/ginger exhibiting the best mechanical characteristics. Moreover, the materials showed potential in generating electron-hole pairs, which are important for antimicrobial activities. The findings suggest that chitosan/ginger could be used in wound dressing applications.

Structural, dielectric, and magnetic studies based on MWCNTs/NiFe2O4/ZnO nanoparticles dispersed in polymer PVA/PEO for electromagnetic applications

Qana A. Alsulami

Summary: The hydrothermal and co-precipitation methods were employed to create multifunctional MWCNTs/NiFe2O4/ZnO (MNFZ) hybrid nanostructures. Characterization through XRD analysis and TEM confirmed the formation of the MNFZ hybrid nanostructure. By using the casting technique, MNFZ nanoparticle-doped PVA and PEO were prepared with different concentrations of MNFZ NPs as nanofiller. The dielectric characteristics and ac conductivity of the polymer blend films were enhanced with the addition of nanofillers, making them suitable for electromagnetic applications.
