EIS and FTIR approaches to study the ion transport parameters and relaxation dynamics of Na+1 ion in SPE based on MC polymer inserted with sodium salt

Ari A. Abdalrahman et al.

Summary: This work provides deep insights into ion transport parameters using EIS and FTIR. Solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) was prepared using MC-based biopolymer as the host material. XRD was used to study the structural changes in the SPE films with the addition of NaSCN salt. Polymer-salt interactions were observed through FTIR analysis. Impedance and FTIR methodologies were used to evaluate transport parameters. The results show that the percentage of free ions influences the transport parameters, as detected using FTIR.

Insights into ion transport in biodegradable solid polymer blend electrolyte based on FTIR analysis and circuit design

Rebar T. Abdulwahid et al.

Summary: This study used the solution casting method to prepare a biodegradable polymer blend electrolyte consisting of chitosan and potato starch. It was found that the addition of potassium thiocyanate salt significantly reduced the crystalline phase of the host polymers. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy was used to analyze the microstructural modifications and ion transport parameters. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and electrical equivalent circuit modeling were employed to investigate the electrical properties of the electrolyte films. The addition of salt improved the dielectric properties of the electrolyte.

Niyaz M. Sadiq et al.

Summary: Flexible films of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and chitosan (CS) solid polymer blend electrolytes were prepared with the aid of casting methodology. The addition of glycerol (GL) and sodium bromide (NaBr) affected the properties of the films. Structural behavior was examined using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR). The highest ionic conductivity was found in CS:PVA at ambient temperature. The films showed promise for energy storage device applications.

Summary: An experimental study was conducted on symmetric EDLCs with lithium-ion electrolyte, exploring different binder concentrations and electrode coating methods. It was found that electrodes with PEDOT:PSS binder exhibited pseudocapacitance effects in the lithium-ion electrolyte, with the EDLCs with doctor blade-coated electrodes and 10 wt% PEDOT:PSS binder showing the highest energy density in discharge. Additionally, EDLCs with sprayed electrodes achieved higher power density than doctor blade coated electrodes.
