Recently, germanium (Ge) has been regarded as a two-dimensional (2D) material saturable absorber (SA) due to its excellent nonlinear saturable absorption properties. However, research on Ge SA Er-doped fiber lasers is still limited. In this study, bound state solitons were successfully demonstrated in a Ge SA Er-doped fiber laser, which has not been achieved in previous works. Three types of bound state solitons with a fundamental frequency of 9.77 MHz were investigated, indicating that Ge has exceptional nonlinear optical characteristics to promote the development of bound state solitons.
Recently, germanium (Ge) was also considered as the two-dimensional (2D) material saturable absorber (SA) because of its excellent nonlinear saturable absorption properties. To be best of our knowledge, no previous work has ever achieved that.
