Exercise after influenza or COVID-19 vaccination increases serum antibody without an increase in side effects

Justus Hallam et al.

Summary: Exercise can enhance antibody response to influenza and COVID-19 vaccines in adults, without increasing side effects. The study shows that 90 minutes of light-to-moderate-intensity exercise can consistently increase serum antibody levels four weeks after immunization.

Comparison of the lymphocyte response to interval exercise versus continuous exercise in recreationally trained men

Eliott Arroyo et al.

Summary: This study compared the effects of high-intensity interval exercise (HIIE), sprint interval exercise (SIE), and moderate-intensity continuous exercise (MICE) on circulating lymphocyte subset cell counts. The results showed that all three types of exercise led to significant decreases in the counts of CD56dim NK cells, CD19 B cells, CD4 T cells, and CD8 T cells. Despite differences in total work and oxygen consumption, there were no differences in the lymphocyte response between the interval and continuous exercise.

Levels of cardiorespiratory fitness in men exerts strong impact on lymphocyte function after mitogen stimulation

Gilson P. Dorneles et al.

Summary: The study aimed to analyze the impact of cardiorespiratory fitness on lymphocyte function after mitogen stimulation. Results showed that different levels of CRF can affect lymphocyte responses to stimuli, therefore influencing specific inflammatory responses.

Neutrophils: mediating TelOxidation and senescence

Maria Sol Jacome Burbano et al.

Summary: Research has shown that neutrophils can trigger the senescence of neighboring cells by transmitting ROS, leading to damage primarily at telomeres and highlighting the interplay between telomere homeostasis and oxidative stress in the process of aging.

The Immunity Clock

Irene Martinez de Toda et al.

Summary: The study found that the immune system can be used to estimate the rate of aging of an individual, with the construction of an Immunity Clock for age prediction. The Immunity Clock showed high correlation and proved useful for monitoring the effectiveness of nutritional interventions.
