Effect of Different Vat Polymerization Techniques on Mechanical and Biological Properties of 3D-Printed Denture Base

Hao-Ern Lee et al.

Summary: Three-dimensional printing is increasingly used in dentistry to fabricate denture bases. This study examined the effects of different vat polymerization techniques on the mechanical and biological properties of 3D-printed denture bases made from NextDent denture base resin. The results showed that SLA had the highest flexural strength, while DLP and LCD had higher water sorption and solubility. The study confirmed that NextDent denture base resin designed for DLP can be printed using different vat polymerization techniques.

3D Printing: an appealing technology for the manufacturing of solid oral dosage forms

Giulia Pitzanti et al.

Summary: The use of three-dimensional printing (3DP) as an alternative strategy for the fabrication of solid oral dosage forms (SODFs) is growing. Different 3DP technologies and materials have been explored, resulting in the successful manufacture of various SODFs with complex geometries and compositions. However, only one 3DP SODF has reached the market so far. Despite its potential, there are still technical and regulatory challenges that need to be addressed for the widespread use of 3DP in the pharmaceutical sector.
